“ParaGolfer” Wheelchair Designed for Golf
posted on Feb 07 by Admin in the Disability News, Fun, Technology, Wheelchair Sports, Wheelchair Technology category
Golfers whom are amputees or paralyzed from the waist down but have upper body strength can play golf with ease using this specially designed wheelchair, the “ParaGolfer.” The wheelchair is designed for golf course terrain so you can easily migrate over the hills and enjoy golfing without extra effort. The golfers wheelchair lifts the individual from a sitting position to a standing position. Not only can the ParaGolfer be used for golf, it allows you to be at eye level with the other players and in everyday life.

The ParaGolfer allows unrestricted shoulder movement, opening up many more opportunities to participate in different kinds of activities. Extremely fast and easy adjustment of seat depth and lower leg length makes the chair meet your comfort needs without being too strenuous. Until now, adaptive carts have only been able to put you in a semi standing position, sometimes making you have to use a one-handed swing. This chair allows you to use a normal two-handed swing.

There are some potential problems with the ParaGolfer – not with the product itself, but the course where you may to choose to play. Some golf courses might charge you an extra fee to use the chair. The ParaGolfer is also quite expensive, but just like any new product, as the ParaGolfer becomes more known and there is a higher demand, the prices will go down in time. The ParaGolfer is made by a German based company and can now be found in the US exclusively by Legs Don’t Work.
Craig Kennedy, a man who enjoys playing golf, has used a variety of adaptive wheelchairs designed for the game. Since using the ParaGolfer, he has said he believes it to be the best adaptive golf equipment on the market. He also stated that he would recommend the product to anyone who has tried, or wants to try adaptive golf, or anyone who wants to take their game to the next level.

I have lost both legs from just above the knee. I live in Orangevale, California Subburb of Sacramento. I would like to know the closest distributer, where I can try one out. I also would also like to know the price, how to transportto a course, and how to get onto the chair from a power chair. Thank you so very much for responding to me.
