Those with special needs now have a place of their own. Morgan’s Wonderland is theme park catering to accomodating those with special needs. It sits on 25 acres of land in an old rock quarry in San Antonio, Texas and is completely wheelchair accessible. The park’s attractions include rides, playgrounds, gardens, and eight-acre fishing lake, 18,000 foot special events center, 575-seat amphitheater, picnic area, and rest areas throughout the park. Everything was created with those with special needs in mind.

Some additional things that park features include Braille signage, a 3-D park model, 18 ADA-compliant restrooms, two first aid stations, vending machines, and seven acres of free parking. For safety reasons, quests are required to make a reservation to the park before visiting to limit the amount of guest per day to the park. The park is now open for a limited number of quests and its grand opening will take place on April 10, 2010. All disabled guest have enter free and their friends and family for the small fee of $5.

For more information on this amusement park for special needs, go to Morgan’s Wonderland website.

Do you have private changing areas for disabled wheelchair bound to be changed? Is there a hotel nearby?

Good Morning:

I cannot begin to express my gratitude to you for having this park. My husband was hit on his motorcylce accident 25 years ago, at the age of 20. We actually just got married last year, and when ever we went to the beach i was so sad that we couldn’t get onto any rides. When i saw this website i bursted out into tears of Joy. We are now making plans to spend our 1 year wedding anniversary at your park. I’m praying that there rides for big people.

Thank you again from the bottom of our hearts!

Handycat, a Catalan company which has been dedicated to the world of handicapped people since 1996, is now introducing a new swing to be used by people on wheelchair.
This swing is unique all over the world for the freedom it gives, since it can be operated by the user without any other person’s help.
